The book · free during early access
Say the thing you've never quite said.
A private illustrated book for someone you love — one page from you, or pages gathered from everyone who loves them, with their photographs on a wall of lights behind it. For a birthday, wedding, farewell or memorial, or for no occasion at all.
- 1Choose a look
- 2Write your page
- 3Hang their photographs
- 4Invite others, or keep it just from you
One book. Inside, all her people.
Open Mom's page, or Dad's.
The pictures hang on the wall.
The words stay in the book.
One day, on a real wall. It does not exist yet and there is nothing to buy — we would just like to know whether anyone wants one.
Gathered Pop-up Cards
A card that stands up
and plays a tune.
A painting rises off the page as they open it, and a little music box plays for the occasion. Write a few words, add your voice if you like, and send it as a link — nothing to print, post or install.
Any card, any tune, and no account needed.
For you

Questions people ask.
How do you organize a group gift for someone?
Start the book and add the first page yourself, so people can see what they are joining. Then invite everyone with their own private link — there is no group chat to manage and nobody has to sign up. You watch the pages arrive, reorder or hide anything you want, and send the finished book when it is ready. Most organizers give people three or four days.
What if not everyone responds?
Fewer people stall than you would expect, because nobody is handed a blank box. Each person is asked a question they can answer in one line if that is all the time they have. When someone does not reply, the book still comes together with the pages that arrived, and you review it before sharing, so the final gift is never a surprise.
What do people write in their pages?
Most people worry about this and then find it easier than expected, because nobody starts from an empty box. Each contributor is offered a few questions to pick from — the first memory you have of them, a time they showed up for you, the most them thing they have ever done — and answers one. Nothing anyone is asked ever appears in the book; only what they write. The pages that land are specific rather than grand, and a page can be a photo or a recorded voice instead of writing at all.
Can people add a voice message or a song?
Yes. A contributor can record their voice straight from their phone — no app to install — and attach a song, a photo, or a written message. Hearing someone's actual voice is usually the part the recipient replays, so it is worth telling people the option is there.
Can I add photographs without using up pages?
Yes. Photographs hang on a wall of lights behind the book rather than taking a page each — up to twelve at a time, kept in the order they were taken. They never use up a page, so there is no reason to leave any of them out.
How many people can add a page?
As many as you like, so there is no reason to keep the list short. Some books hold one page; others hold thirty.
What does it cost?
Nothing, during early access. Making it, inviting people, previewing it and sending it are all free, however many pages and people are in it. A book sent during early access stays free for as long as Gathered runs.
How long does it take to make one?
Making a book on your own takes about fifteen minutes. If you are inviting other people, the work is mostly waiting — send the links, give people a few days, then review and send.
Do contributors need an account or an app?
No. They open a private link in their browser and add their page. Contributors never sign up and never pay.
Can I see the book before I send it?
Yes. Create the first page and preview the whole recipient experience before you send it. Nothing reaches them until you choose to send it.
Is the book private?
Organizer, contributor, edit, and recipient access each use separate private links. Books are not public social pages and are not indexed by search engines.
